How to Create Sci-Fi Laser Noises Like Star Wars Using A Metal Slinky

Hey sound designers,

Here’s a cool video on how to create Sci Fi (Star Wars) type laser beam noises by using a metal slinky. This is simply done by hanging a metal slinky from the rafters or what ever you can hang from. Then, simply tap the slinky which then makes the laser noise. These noises are then recorded to a microphone at the top of the slinky.
